Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal data when you use the YouTube Tags service, which consists of:

  • our website at www.tags-addon.com (marketing pages, sign-in, and account management); and
  • the YouTube Tags browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Edge.

We refer to the website and the extension together as the "Service". Both share a single account, so the same policy applies whether you use the website, the extension, or both. Where a practice applies to only one of them, we say so.

1. Who we are (data controller)

The controller of the personal data we collect about users of the Service is Individual Entrepreneur Gasymov Ali, registered in Kazakhstan at Almaty, prospekt Sejfullina, 416, 24. For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at alik0211alik@gmail.com.

Payment data is handled separately by Paddle (see section 5), which acts as an independent controller of that data.

2. Data we collect and why

Visiting our website

When you visit www.tags-addon.com, our hosting provider processes standard server request data, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, to deliver and secure the site. To offer Google Sign-In, our website loads the Google Identity Services script from Google; when it loads, Google may process data as described in Google's own privacy policy. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the website.

  • Purpose: serving the website, security, and enabling sign-in.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running and protecting the website.

Account data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and a Google account identifier from Google Sign-In. We use this to create and authenticate your account and to manage your free trial and license.

  • Purpose: account creation, sign-in, and providing the Service.
  • Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

Usage and technical data

When the website or the extension makes requests to our API (for example, to sign you in or check your license status), our servers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser and device information, and request logs.

  • Purpose: operating the Service, security, fraud prevention, and improving the product.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running and protecting the Service.

Data the extension reads on YouTube

The extension reads publicly available tag information on the YouTube pages you visit and displays it to you directly in your browser. It does not send the videos you view, the pages you browse, or your browsing history to our servers, and we do not use the extension to build a profile of your activity.

The only data the extension transmits to us is your authentication token from Google Sign-In, which contains your email address and Google account identifier. We use it solely to verify your account and confirm your trial or license status.

To do this, the extension uses access to https://www.youtube.com/* only to read tag information and display tags on YouTube pages. It does not request access to your data on other websites.

Analytics in the extension

The extension uses Google Analytics to collect limited, largely aggregate usage information: your interactions with the extension, your browser name, the extension version, your browser language, and your country. This information is highly encrypted in transit.

  • Purpose: understanding performance and errors, deciding which browsers and devices to support, and prioritizing which languages to localize into — in short, improving the product.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interests in improving the Service, and your consent where required by applicable law.

You can opt out at any time by disabling analytics in the extension's settings, or by uninstalling the extension.

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we process the information you provide (such as your email address and message) to respond and keep a record.

  • Purpose: customer support.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping our users.

3. Cookies and local storage

On our website, we use essential browser storage (a token saved in your browser's localStorage) to keep you signed in. This is necessary for the Service to work and is not used for advertising. We do not use non-essential advertising or marketing cookies on the website.

In the extension, Google Analytics may set identifiers to measure usage as described in "Analytics in the extension" above. You can opt out of this as explained in that section.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Paddle — our merchant of record, for the sale of the Service, payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Google — for Sign-In authentication (we receive your email and account identifier from Google) and for Google Analytics, which processes the extension usage data described above.
  • Infrastructure and hosting providers (subprocessors) — such as Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database), who process data on our behalf to run the Service.
  • Professional advisers — such as legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
  • Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International data transfers

We and our providers may process your data on servers located outside your country, including outside Kazakhstan and the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States or the European Union). Where we transfer personal data of users in the EEA or UK to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists and for as long as needed to provide the Service and comply with our legal obligations. We delete or anonymize personal data when it is no longer needed for these purposes. Aggregate usage data collected through Google Analytics is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at alik0211alik@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (within one month for requests under the EU/UK GDPR, extendable where permitted).

  • EEA/UK users: you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
  • California users: you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you.

11. Contact us

For any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at alik0211alik@gmail.com.
